Every Sunday: Votsala guests can join a cooking class with Daphne and Eleni. At 4:00 PM we start cooking, we arrange the tables, we put dishes in oven then we… jump into the sea! Usually we manage to serve dinner at 8:30.

Every Monday: Daphne and Eleni offer a gastronomic trip on Lesvos.

The "Taste of Greece" week offers the possibility to join a more intensive program focused on Greek eating and drinking culture. Here is a list with most of the activities that we offer during the week.


 
WEEKLY SCHEDULE (Taste of Greece)    

Day 1
10:00 we will visit the distillery of EPOM to get an idea how ouzo is made. A small walk in the old part of the town and some ouzo with a snack at Hermes- the oldest café of the town.

15:30 In the Votsala kitchen, we will cook mousaka and its variations hopping to serve at 20:00 Dinner


Day 2
9:00 -16:30 North Lesvos
At a traditional 19th c house in Petra, we shall harvest local vegetables and prepare ‘tourlou’. We will go for a swim in the local waters and then enjoy the fruits of our labor.

In the afternoon we will visit Molyvos, Sykaminea & Mandamados


Day 3
After breakfast –at 10:30- we will cook vegetarian…. Diving into the depths of the Votsala kitchen, old family recipes will be used today. Lunch will be served at 14.00

17:00 “Olive path's walk” through a charming valley to a hidden small Roman aqueduct and then to the oasis of Pigi (spring) Karinis, then we will visit the mountain village Agiassos, where we can have dinner.


Day 4
16:00 Eight to ten traditional dishes usually served with ouzo, will be prepared in today’s class.

20:00 Dinner: “OUZO PARTY”



Day 5
Boat Trip to the southern beach of Tarti, protected from the Northern wind. Then a thermal bath at the hot springs in the gulf of Gera …

Day 6
10:30 We will visit the Archaeological Museum of Mytilini to see the exhibition “Eating and Drinking in Ancient Greece”
Lunch in the town or at Votsala

17:00 Historical walk in Thermi
20:00 Barbeque at Votsala


Day 7
7:30 Central Lesvos
We will visit the Skala Kaloni Port as the fisherman return to the harbor with their freshly caught sardines. After breakfast at the port, we will select fish for our evening meal. Next, we will the Museum of Industrial Olive Oil Production. This is in the picturesque village of Agia Paraskevi. A light lunch at the local agora.

While we get our siesta at Votsala our staff will prepare our dinner using the "catch of the day".


Participants are not obliged to get a full program. They are flexible to choose those activities that fit the most to their individual wishes.

Costs: € 10 – 35 / person / activity.
